Scout

“Within seconds, my boxer, greeted her different than other people. Usually he barks and barks and sniffs the person, while still barking and jumping around. He went up to Meghan quietly, and started doing these weird noises, like he was trying to say something. He sat next to her, almost falling asleep. Very unusual for him. Meghan was communicating that Scout wanted to talk about what was going on. I had removed all indications that a second dog was in our home. From dog bowls to beds. My bulldog had passed away the night before Meghan came and we didn’t give her any information. Scout told Meghan within minutes, there was a recent passing, it was another dog. When my fiancé came home, I had told Meghan that he was at work, but he actually wasn’t. I was hiding information from her. He came home muddy, he works construction so that was my excuse. Scout said that my bulldog who just passed was in a familiar place, under a tree and she was with another dog she knows and that was connected to the family. My boxer said she was with her blanket and her favorite soccer ball. We buried her in her favorite blanket so I couldn't believe she knew that. My boxer was buried under the same tree that my childhood boxer was buried at my parents house. Wildly, my husband just came back from burying our dog, and thats why he was muddy. I had not had the chance to talk to him yet. He got teary eyed and said I put Lola’s favorite soccer ball in the hole with her, so she is buried with her favorite soccer ball. Our jaws dropped, holy cow type of moment."
